Research
I am the Director of Yale's participation in the NICHD-sponsored Neonatal Research Network. This is a group of 16 newborn ICUs that collaborate to design and perform randomized clinical trials and observational studies in neonates, especially very low birth weight infants [VLBW (birth weight <=1500 gms)]. Additional research interests include nutritional requirements and growth of the VLBW infant and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
